Welcoming the Stranger: A Biblical Perspective on Immigration with Jenny Hwang (World Relief)

This workshop will look at immigration from a Biblical perspective. Why is immigration a compassion and justice issue? What does the Bible have to say about immigration and how does that inform our current attitudes towards foreigners in our midst? What are the current politics and policies around immigration reform?

World Relief’s mission is to empower the local church to serve the most vulnerable.

Jenny Hwang is the Director for Advocacy and Policy at World Relief and is co-author of the book “Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion and Truth in the Immigration Debate.” She works frequently in Washington, DC with Congress and the Administration to improve refugee and immigration policy. Before World Relief, she worked as a political consultant in Baltimore, MD.

Really looking forward to this! I'm is San Diego, and immigration is always a big issue. The way much of the population here thinks of/interacts with immigrants is so disheartening, and I'd love to know more about this subject as I interact with my city.
