What I've Learned the First Year of Launching a Non-Profit with Chris Marlow (Help End Local Poverty)

Launching non-profits can be a great experience. But, it can also be painful, chaotic and heart-breaking. Come learn from leaders who are in the beginning stages of launching their non-profits. We hope to facilitate a conversation that is real, honest and transparent.

H.E.L.P. is a grassroots organization that desire to alleviate extreme poverty by connecting people in the West to help end local poverty in the Global South by rescuing homeless orphans and helping restore their lives.

Chris Marlow is the Founder/Director for Help End Local Poverty. He has also planted two churches, launched two Real Estate companies and worked a 9-5 in Corporate Sales. Chris is married to Necole and has two daughters and a boxer pup.

Looking forward to this conversation. Should be fun, hopefully I can help folks avoid some of the mistakes I've made and we can help future orgs get started with some energy and focus.
Marlow, I'm looking forward to going to DC together... to learn and grow in collaboration with other like minded people from around the country. It should be a great time!
Thx Bill. Its gonna be a great few days!
Hey everyone,

For those of you who are or thinking about starting a non-profit...What are the biggest questions you have? I would love to have a conversation before ICDC and help in any way possible!
One of the things I'm concerned about is "hateration". What with limited funding already a long-standing issue and now the horrid economy, I've found it daunting to even sit down with established NPOs for conversation.

The other thing is really about being the n00b on the block. The org isn't even up and running, but the scowls and criticism abound!
