Men become better men in the company of Good Men

On the playing field today, coaching and encouraging men, women and young people today. What a privilege to give back encouraging words, be asked for my take and give advise to others in some small way. I think back 33 years ago on my state of mentally and emotionally wrecked family affairs, dad in jail, mom tirelessly raising 4 kids and my desperate thinking to make sense out my existence.

Though my father was alive and breathing, his lack of influence and presence, left a gaping hole in my soul and an overwhelming rage and hate for people (and myself). Reflecting back to 1977, when I was locked up in juvenile hall for 1-month for attempted murder, how I yearned for my dad to come pick me up! He was no where to be found....

Have you ever tried to guide a boat without a paddle, drive a car without gas, or trek through the mountains without a map?
